The Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria (KRIB) is “the Voice of the Bulgarian Business” having the status of national representative organization for the Bulgarian business. The confederation has more than 12 500 members with 255 regional representations covering the entire country and incorporating 131 branch organizations in all economic sectors. Through its activities, KRIB is sustaining synergies between the business and the social partners, enabling the incorporation of business interests in the process of creation and execution of the national policies.

Due to its unique position within the ecosystem, The Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria is working on key projects and initiatives, supporting businesses in Bulgaria on their road towards the twin transition (digital and green) as well as adopting technologies and processes in the context of Industry 4.0. One of the key aspects on this journey is the effective management of human resources in terms of supporting employees in adapting to the new technologies, gaining green and digital skills, also applying them into their daily work.

In order to support businesses to overcome the challenges caused by increasing staff turnover, negative demographic trends and the aging of the workforce, The Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria is working on a project “Development of a new model for managing of human resources in order to develop a sustainable social capital” funded under the Operational Program “Development of Human Resources” 2014 – 2020 (contract № BG05M9OP001-1.051-0005-C01).

The created model for human resources managing serves as a tool that enables the development of sustainable social capital. The implementation of the model gives employees access to various resources such as professional information, legal information, supportive psychological environment, health culture, safety of the working environment which leads to effective problem solving in the work process, knowledge sharing, improvement of the professional level through mutual learning, pro-social behavior, commitment to the work process, trust in the employer, psychological security. All those positive changes results in better individual and organizational performance, optimization of work opportunities at any age and increased productivity of the company.

The integration of such а model will make business not only in Bulgaria, but across Europe, more social, sustainable and competitive. It will also equip management and employees with key skills, competences and support network thus enabling the twin transition (digital and green) and transformation towards Industry 4.0.
